Why kindness works for everyone – Mental Health Awareness week
We need to think about our own mental health as much as that of others around us.
This year’s theme is ‘kindness’ and we’ve been reflecting on how events of the past few months can make us forget to take time for ourselves. We’ve all experienced worry about loved ones, our jobs or finances and the changes to our day to day life which makes it really important for our mental health to keep checking in on ourselves too.

Spike in doorstep crime as lockdown is eased
Doorstep criminals have scammed a Buckinghamshire resident out of £20,000 for spurious roof repairs while his wife was in hospital being treated for Covid-19.

Medical students make calls to vulnerable residents shielding from coronavirus
Medical students from the University of Buckingham are making regular ‘check-in’ phone calls to local elderly and vulnerable residents who are shielding from Covid-19. The calls allow the students to make sure the residents are feeling okay, and to check that they are receiving food parcels and any medication that they may need.

Bucks Council opens 5 household recycling centres – for essential journeys only.
Buckinghamshire Council has confirmed the reopening of five of its nine household recycling centres to give residents the chance to dispose of waste that cannot be safely stored at home. Read more here
