Dear all,
We hope you are all staying safe and well. The shop has settled into a little more of a routine in its new format over the last week and we have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers working to maintain the running of the shop and to fulfil orders. Please see the information below regarding a reminder of the service and opening hours.
Our website should be up and running shortly and so we will post regular news regarding products and deliveries.
Hughenden Valley Community Shop – Home Delivery Hub
We are open for service between 11am and 3pm – 01494 568653. See below for details:
Main Service – home deliveries
Simply phone between 11am and 3pm – we will take your shopping list and when it is packed and ready, we will call you to take card payment over the phone. Your shopping will then be delivered a short while later when the next team of delivery volunteers arrive. (Delivery volunteers will knock/ring to make you aware of the delivery and leave your shopping on the doorstep).
Phone orders for collection later
Phone between 11am and 3pm – we will take your shopping list and when packed and ready we will call you back to take card payment. You will then be able to collect your shopping anytime up until 4pm that day. Please just knock at the door, step back and wait for your bag to be placed outside the door.
Emergency/Impromptu visits to the shop
Whilst, we can accept urgent/impromptu visits to the shop between 11am and 3pm, we would like to keep these to a minimum if possible. (This is for the safety of our staff and volunteers in the shop, as it is easier to manage the flow and social distancing between the staff and the non-sharing of payment equipment).
For key workers such as teachers still teaching in schools, emergency service and healthcare workers, we understand that you will probably not be able to make phone calls during your day, so we are happy for you to drop off shopping lists in a designated box outside the shop. We will then pack the order and deliver it for you. (Please leave your name, address and telephone number, and the time when we can call you for payment).
(For the safety of our volunteers and staff, all shop activities are being broken down into specific, separate time frames to ensure that staff are able to safely social distance from each other. Therefore, you may see staff in the shop between from 8 until 11 am but they will be receiving early bread and newspaper deliveries, receiving cash and carry and other deliveries, sorting stock and carrying out essential hygiene and housekeeping tasks only).
We will continue to send out regular communication by email so if you know anyone who would like to be added to the email list, please ask them to email me (Louise) at shopmanager@valleyshop.org
Please also tell any of your family, about the home delivery service.
Take care and hope you all stay safe.
Best regards,
Louise
